PANASONIC TOUGHBOOK 31 PACKS CORE I3, I5 PROCESSORS, TOUGH INSIDE AND OUT

After making its way into the European market on Monday, Panasonic has announced its updated Toughbook CF-19 is now shipping in the US. The 10.4-inch convertible tablet will now be available with a 1.2GHz Intel Core i5 CPU that can operate at 2.0GHz in Turbo Boost mode and promises nearly a third more performance compared to previous versions along with a nine-hour battery life. The notebook has an optional Gobi2000 module for access to EVDO Rev A and HSPA 3G networks along with being WiMAX-ready.

Its 160GB shock-mounted drive or optional 128GB SSD are preloaded with Windows 7 Professional, and users get a Windows XP downgrade option. There is 2GB of RAM, though up to 8GB can be ordered. Standard fare includes Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1. The notebook is MIL-STD-810G certified to withstand six-foot drops as well as dust and liquids, while its bright 1000-nit display is clear enough for outdoor viewing.

Prices for the Toughbook CF-19 in the US start at $3,399
